Time & Battery Announcer

Time & Battery Announcer is a background companion rather than a screen you check repeatedly — set it up once, and it quietly speaks the time and your battery level on its own schedule, even while you're using an entirely different app or your phone is sitting locked in your pocket. A master "Announcer" switch at the top turns the whole thing on or off instantly, and a mode picker lets you choose exactly what it announces: "Use Only Time Announcement," "Use Only Battery Announcement," or "Both Announcements" together.

For time, you control the Time Interval — anywhere from every 5, 10, 15, 30, or 45 minutes, up to every 1, 2, or 3 hours — plus the Time Format, either "12-Hour AM/PM" or "24-Hour." An Announcement Style setting shapes how it's actually spoken: "Detailed" gives you a fuller sentence, something like "The time is...", while "Simple" just states the time plainly, such as "12:30 PM." A "Play Announcement Chime" switch adds a soft tone just before each spoken announcement, a small but helpful cue that lets you know something is about to be said before the speech itself begins.

Battery settings follow a similar structure but with their own trigger logic. You can set announcements to fire on the same time-based interval as your time announcements, or independently every 30 minutes, 1, 2, or 3 hours, or — often more useful — every time your battery level changes by a set amount, such as every 5%, 10%, or 25%. Two additional safety-minded switches sit alongside this: "Low Battery Alerts," which specifically calls out your battery level at the 15% and 5% marks regardless of your regular interval, and "Full Charge Alerts," which does the same at 95% and 100%, so you always know when it's genuinely safe to unplug.

A Schedule section lets you define quiet hours, because a phone that announces the time every fifteen minutes at 3 a.m. isn't helpful to anyone. Choose a Schedule Mode — "Always Play (24/7)," "Play only during scheduled hours," or "Mute during scheduled hours" — and set a Start and End time using dedicated hour-and-minute pickers to define your personal bedtime window.

Under Voice & Language, you can choose your Speech Language (English or Hindi at present), pick a specific TTS Engine and Voice Profile, and set a Speech Rate from Slow through Normal, Fast, up to Faster. A "Test Output" button lets you hear exactly how your chosen combination sounds before committing to it.

Because this tool needs to keep running reliably in the background, sometimes for days at a stretch, a dedicated "Permissions & Background Reliability" section checks three things your phone needs to grant: Notifications, Alarms & Reminders (specifically exact-alarm permission on newer Android versions), and an exemption from aggressive battery restrictions — each shown with a clear "Granted" or "Fix Now" badge, with "Fix Now" taking you directly to the right system setting. Getting all three granted is what allows the announcer to survive a phone restart and keep firing at precise, predictable times rather than drifting or stopping silently. Once everything is configured the way you want, tap "Save & Apply Settings" to lock it in — this reschedules the underlying background alarms immediately. And if you ever want to stop the announcements without opening the app at all, a "Stop" button is available directly from the persistent notification itself, and switching it off there stays in sync with the setting inside the app.
