Image Metadata
Metadata Viewer & Editor is by far the deepest tool in this hub, surfacing every piece of technical information a camera or app embeds invisibly inside a photo. Once you select an image, its details are organized into eight clear sections: File Info covers the basics like file size, format, and pixel dimensions; Date & Time lists when the photo was taken, digitized, and last modified; Camera & Lens details the manufacturer, model, and lens information; Exposure Settings covers shutter speed, aperture, ISO, focal length, and flash details; Image Quality lists contrast, saturation, sharpness, and orientation; GPS Location shows exactly where a photo was taken, complete with an "Open in Maps" button if coordinates are present; Creator & Rights covers title, description, artist, and copyright information; and Advanced rounds out the more technical, rarely-needed EXIF specifications. Fields with no data are automatically hidden, so you're only ever reading through information that actually exists for that particular photo.
By default, this is a read-only viewer, but an "Edit" button in the header switches you into editing mode. Only a deliberately chosen handful of fields are actually editable, since most metadata reflects facts a camera recorded and shouldn't be rewritten: Date Taken, Software, Title, Description, Artist, Copyright, and Comment. Once you change something, a "Save Metadata Changes" button appears; tapping it opens a "Save Edited Image" dialog, with a clear note that a new copy of your photo will be saved carrying the updated metadata, rather than silently overwriting your original. After a brief "Writing Metadata..." step, a "Metadata Saved!" confirmation appears with Share and Image Hub options.
This tool is genuinely useful in two very different situations: satisfying simple curiosity about exactly when and how a photo was taken, and more practically, correcting or removing sensitive details — like embedded GPS coordinates — before sharing a photo with people you'd rather not have that information.
