##How to Use (How to Use Compress PDF)

Step 1: First of all open Tech Assistant for Blind Application. Then open PDF Manipulation Toolbox from the list of numerous features provided in the app. After this, double tap on the Compress PDF button given under the TRANSFORM heading, with which it will be written Reduce file size with adjustable quality. Now double tap on Pick a PDF button and select the PDF which needs to be compressed. If you want to select another PDF later, you can use the Change PDF button.

Step 2:
Now choose the compression preset as per your need. There are many options available in this.

  • Extreme (Smallest Size): If you want the smallest file size and quality can be compromised, then choose this option.
  • Aggressive (Maximum Compression): Significantly reduces the file size, but the quality may also be reduced.
  • Low (Good Compression): Maintains normal quality with good compression.
  • Medium (Recommended): Provides the best balance between file size and quality, so is the most appropriate option in most situations.
  • High (Better Visuals): Provides better visual quality, but the file size remains relatively high.
  • Best (Largest Size, Best Visuals): Gives the best visual quality, but due to the lowest compression, the file size also remains the largest.

Step 3:
If the PDF has to be uploaded to a website in a certain file size, then tick the Specify Custom Target Size (Approximate) check box. After this, enter the Target Size of your choice in the Edit Box that opens. You can choose KB or MB from the drop-down menu as per requirement. If Custom Target Size is not required, skip to the next step without ticking this option.

Step 4:
Now you can change the name of the PDF in the Output file name and then double tap on the Compress PDF button. After compression is complete, options to Download, Share and Read PDF will appear. By clicking on Read PDF, you can start reading PDF directly from there, just for that you will need internet. As soon as you double tap on Download, the PDF will be saved in the Internal Storage/Download/tech-assistant/pdf-compressor folder of the File Manager. Now, there will be no hindrance in any of your important work just because of the large file size of the PDF.
