Settings & Personalization
Every setting covered in this chapter is reachable from one place: tap your account icon in the top-right corner of any screen, and a full menu opens covering your profile, notifications, backup and restore, general settings, app updates, and help — the control center for how Tech Assistant behaves, sounds, and speaks.
At the center of it all is Reading & Text-to-Speech Settings, the single shared engine behind nearly every tool in this app that reads text aloud. Rather than each reading tool carrying its own separate voice configuration, they all draw from this one place, so a change you make here — your preferred voice, your speech rate, your reading mode — takes effect everywhere at once, from Talking Camera to the PDF Reader to Tech Assistant AI. General App Settings covers the smaller sensory details: sound and vibration feedback for actions, media player defaults, and diagnostic logging for troubleshooting. AI Settings governs which Gemini model powers your AI conversations and lets you add a personal API key for unlimited use. Quick Action Tab Settings, covered in the first chapter of this guide, lives here too, alongside Backup & Restore for protecting your data, App Updates for staying current, Notifications for reviewing alerts, and your Profile for managing your account itself.
None of these settings are required reading before you can use the app — everything works sensibly out of the box. But spending a few minutes here once, particularly in Reading Settings, tends to pay off across everything else you do in Tech Assistant afterward.
