Navigating with the Bottom Tabs
No matter how deep you wander into Tech Assistant's tools, five tabs stay anchored at the bottom of the screen, always in the same order and always reachable with a swipe and a double-tap.
The first is Home, the greeting-and-shortcuts screen described elsewhere in this chapter — your default landing spot every time you open the app. The second is your Quick Launch tab, the app's most personal piece of navigation: by default it's labeled "Accessibility Tools," but both its label and its behavior are entirely yours to configure, as the next section explains in full. Third comes News, bringing you regional headlines in a number of languages. Fourth is Articles, a separate curated feed of longer reading. And fifth, labeled More, is a catch-all for everything that doesn't need a permanent tab of its own — think of it as an overflow drawer rather than a dead end.
Each tab carries a clear accessibility label, so your screen reader announces exactly which one you're on and which ones are available with a swipe left or right along the tab bar, followed by a double-tap to activate. Because the tab bar never moves or reorders itself, it quickly becomes a reliable landmark: no matter what screen you're lost in, swiping down to the bottom of the screen and finding the tab bar always gets you back to familiar ground.
One more constant travels with you across every one of these tabs: the account icon in the top-right corner of the header. It's present on every authenticated screen, not just Home, so wherever you are, your profile, notifications, backup and restore options, general settings, app updates, help and feedback, legal documents, and sign-out are always a single double-tap away. Between the bottom tab bar and this header menu, you're never more than a couple of gestures from anywhere else in the app.
