Welcome & Creating an Account
The first screen you meet is the Welcome screen, and it's deliberately uncluttered. A logo announces itself simply as "Logo of Tech Assistant for Blind," followed by a short welcome message and a note about the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, each offered as its own tappable button that opens the full document right inside the app, with a clearly labeled close button to return you to Welcome when you're done reading.
Below that sit four actions, each with an unambiguous spoken label. "Sign In" takes you to the sign-in form if you already have an account. "Sign Up" opens the registration form covered in this section. "Sign in with Browser" is an alternative path that hands the process to your device's browser for a Google-style login, then hands you back to the app automatically. And "Help" is worth remembering even before you've registered: it opens a direct WhatsApp conversation with support, so you're never stuck at the front door with nowhere to turn.
To create an account, choose "Sign Up." At the very top you'll find a Google Sign-In button if you'd rather use an existing Google account and skip typing altogether. Otherwise, three fields follow in order: Display Name, Email, and Password. The password field includes a show-or-hide toggle announced as "Show password" or "Hide password," so you can confirm what you've typed before submitting. All three fields are required — leaving any of them empty and tapping Sign Up produces a spoken toast message reminding you to fill in everything.
Just above the Sign Up button, a line confirms that creating an account means accepting the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, each still individually tappable if you want to review them again at this point. Tap "Sign Up" to submit. If something goes wrong — a network hiccup, an account issue, or an already-registered email — the app responds with a clear, specific alert rather than a vague error, and tells you what to do next, including when to contact support directly.
Already registered? A "Sign In" link sits at the bottom of this same screen, alongside a separate "Forgot Password?" link, so you're never more than one tap from the right next step no matter which screen you landed on first.
